Remembering the sweet fool tarot came to me as gift from a play-fool wee golden bird made from a sweet wrapper in the depths of a dark winters day. She brought the knowledge that the universe is rich beyond my comprehension and invited me to wonder, to be curious and to explore. She brought a lightness and joy in a time where I had lost much of what I understood of the world. Everything looked different and unfamiliar. Every so often on those cloudy, confusing days she would whisper in my ear “come play”. She brought colour, light and new ways of seeing. In my very small studio space a bigger world began to emerge, a gathering of so many places of me. I have been creating and gathering objects all of this life and with the guidance of the little golden bird I saw all these pieces come to-gather, into this journey of remembering the sweet fool. The fool who then gently stepped forward into the tarot as a fae dancing into the foot-steps of giants.
The deck has been created using a mixture of narrative photography and play combined with some digital art. I have grounded the art-work in the dimensions of colour and layers of reality by using physical known and created objects.
Each card in remembering the sweet fool tarot deck offers you an opportunity to explore the individual portal of energy they crystalise. They are a place of unique remembering of the depths of your being. Each card is safely held within the greater body of the deck.
